The Locality

Beautifully situated amidst stunning scenery on the Durinish Peninsula, Silverdale Guest House and Silverdale self-contained Cottage, (both STB 4 star quality) are just a wee bit up from the shores of Loch Dunvegan.
With Macleod's Tables to the rear, views of the Cuillin Mountains to the south, and uninterrupted views northwards to the Outer Isles, this is a spectacular and peaceful spot.
We are 5 miles east of historic Dunvegan Castle and just a few miles west of us is dramatic Neist Point, the most westerly point on the island with its vertical cliffs and walk to the lighthouse.
Just down the road is the world famous Three Chimneys Restaurant. Ranked amongst the world's best, it is a mere 8 minutes walk away.

For the wildlife enthusiast, there are regular sightings of dolphins, otters and sometimes whales. Seabirds are abundant, golden eagles and sea eagles are regularly recorded in the area. The small islands just off the shore at Skinidin are home to a colony of seals.
Our loch-view guest rooms are en suite and have TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
Traditional cooked breakfast or cold dishes using finest local produce whenever possible, is served in the dining room overlooking the loch.
