How to Find Us

Directions to the Isle of Skye by car via the west coast
Take the M6/A74M (M74) M8 to Glasgow. Take the exit for it marked 'City Centre'. The trick to getting through Glasgow is to keep going through the city on the motorway until you see the sign for 'Erskine Bridge'. This is currently Junction 30, exit here and and proceed over the bridge and follow signs for Loch Lomond on the A82. At its northern end make for Crianlarich and then Tyndrum. Follow the signs for Fort William via Rannoch Moor, and Glencoe. At Fort William take the bypass to Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh. Turn left at Invergarry onto the (A87) continue towards Kyle of Lochalsh. Now you can go toll-free Over the Bridge to Skye!
Directions to Silverdale via Broadford
Follow the road from Broadford northwards to Sligachan. The quickest route which is also very scenic is sign-posted Dunvegan at Sligachan. Just follow the Dunvegan sign to the left. Continue for around 20 miles. Just before Dunvegan is a sign to the left for Glendale. Take that and go past Kenny’s Garage and the Fire Station. Shortly after that the road bends to the right (signed Glendale, Skye Silver, Three Chimneys.) Do NOT go straight on to Orbost! Follow the Glendale road to Skinidin. Three quarters of a mile after the Skinidin sign you will see the big blue Silverdale sign on the left. The gate opens outwards so pull up a bit short! Please close the gate behind you on entering in order to keep the sheep in the right places.

Directions to Silverdale via Portree
Take the Dunvegan road out of Portree. Continue to Borve and follow the left fork to Dunvegan which is clearly signposted. Follow the road into Dunvegan. You will see the Dunvegan Hotel in front of you and the Tables Hotel to the left. Turn left there, and proceed through the village. There are two petrol stations. Shortly after the right hand petrol station there is a right turn signposted to Glendale. Follow that past the camp site. When you come to a T junction turn right toward Glendale. Skinidin is around three miles from there. Again we are about three quarters of a mile past the Skinidin sign. There is adequate parking within the grounds of Silverdale and a dedicated space at the top of the drive for Cottage guests.
